Most frequent questions and answers
Narrow Road Home accepts women only who are 18 years or older into the program regardless of race, religion, lifestyle or financial status. Our unique program is for women struggling with abuse, life crisis, addictions, mental health concerns, emotional brokenness or domestic violence. You need not have a chemical dependency problem to be accepted at NRH.
Admissions are confidential and referrals may be made personally or by provincial detox centres, adult addiction outpatient services, employee assistance programs, women’s correctional facilities, private treatment centres, physicians, health care professionals, social workers and counsellors.
Our committed staff are happy to assist you 7 days a week. All information is kept confidential.
The initial introduction into the NRH program consists of an informative phone consultation with one of our Admissions Coordinators, consisting of a general Program overview and Q & A, providing a comprehensive outline of our program, services and client criteria for admission. It is important to us that you are a good match for our program. Following our discovery consultation and pending the NRH team approval process we will have an orientation session in which we will outline the details of you stay and plan your personalized healing program.
We encourage and provide services for family members willing to attend an orientation session with potential clients.

We find that the women who are the most successful at NRH are those who have finally come to the end of themselves, are tired of coping mechanisms and self-defeating behaviour patterns that no longer work and are ready for deep soul healing. Many women who join the NRH community have attempted recovery before and have struggled to find lasting healing and stability. NRH is slightly different than other programs in that it is not just a recovery house or a place to “get away from it all” for a bit. NRH is an experience – one that happens on the inside as we walk together with our community and pursue a common goal. We have no time limits on how long you will be with us at NRH because each women’s journey to healing is unique.
We are not about the shortcuts of recovery nor the short term fixes and solutions that don’t work long term. We are the right fit for a women who is ready to go to the places of hidden secrets and pain and willing to trust God in the process.
